The recently constructed hotel OD Port Portals, member of LE Hotels, is perfectly situated close to the luxurious yacht harbor of Puerto Portals (Portals Nous). Od Port Portals
The four-star OD Port Portals has a pared-back urban Scandinavian vibe with chic rooms and a rooftop bar. Situated on the south-west coast, just outside the smart Puerto Portals marina, with its bars and flanking beaches. It makes a great base for exploring the island!
The hotel opens all year round and offers exclusive and personalized services. Serving health-conscious cross-over cuisine with Asian, and European influences. Also the à-la-carte restaurant is decorated with classic furnishings in muted hues and soft lighting.
Location
The OD is on the south-west coast of Majorca, just outside the smart Puerto Portals marina. Where there is a good variety of bars and restaurants, with beaches either side of the harbour. It’s just four miles (seven km) from Palma. You can easily drive to lots of other beaches, resorts or mountain villages.
The Interior
The OD – short for Ocean Drive – has a sort of Scandinavian Art Deco look with a façade of upended bricks painted white, red, blue and ochre. It is the creation of Mark Rahola, who also has three OD hotels in Ibiza. An existing building was remodelled by his parents, who happen to be an architect and interior designer.
There is a stylish stone outdoor pool and yoga classes are held on the terrace. The hotel has an arrangement with the nearby Bodhana Wellness Center and the Nutripure day spa, offering massages and manicures.
Rooms & Suites
There are 63 rooms and nine junior suites over seven floors. There is a cool Scandinavian feel here too, with wood panelling on the wall behind the bed, a brown and white colour scheme and mirrors dividing the room from the bathroom. The first fill of the minibar is complimentary. Junior suites have considerably more space and a Nespresso machine.
Food & drink
Breakfast is availabl until noon, which is rather civilised. There is a good buffet – not enormous but with everything you are likely to want – and eggs and whatever else you fancy are cooked to order.
Good to know: at weekends there is a great brunch too. In the evenings, you can also eat up on the roof at the groovy Sky Bar, where there is usually a DJ or live music.
